Steven “Moose” Edwards
As a husband of a teacher and the father of two children, all in Manchester Public Schools, Steven “Moose” Edwards finds out about what goes on in Manchester’s schools every day. And as a Member of the Board of Education since 2001, he has the experience and know-how to make the positive changes our schools need to improve.
Over the last 6 years, Moose has made many significant contributions to the Board of Education, including:
- Championed the renovation of our schools:
- Proposed the solution to Bennet Middle School now being renovated on Main St.
- Served as Co-Chair of the Buildings and Sites Committee of the Board of Education
- Supported the addition to Manchester High School, including the refit of Bailey Auditorium
- Reviewed and monitored the renovations of Waddell and Bowers Elementary Schools
- Served on many Board of Education Committees including:
- Buildings and Sites
- Curriculum and Instruction
- Community Relations
- Transportation and Residency
- Advisory Committee on Special Education
- Joint Board of Education / Board of Directors Building Committee
- Supported expansion of All Day Kindergarden at our Title I schools
- Faught to preserve the Nature Center program
- Faught to preserve the Probe (Gifted and Talented) program
- Set the standard for bi-partisan cooperation on the Board of Education
