Matt Peak
Director Matt Peak
Dear Manchester Citizens,
Having served on the Board of Directors for the past two years, I am hoping to be reelected and continue working to improve the quality of life in Manchester. As part of the Republican Caucus, I consistently proposed initiatives to do this. In my first term, I created the Manchester L.I.F.E. Scholarship, initiated the 20/10 Clean Energy Initiative, and worked to create a housing development zone in
I also supported Louis Spadaccini’s initiative to create a comprehensive code of ethics that was overdue in our town. We also believe citizens should be able to speak to us at the beginning of every meeting.
Increasing levels of home ownership will be a key to revitalizing our central core neighborhoods. Thanks to the work of Director Cheri Ann Pelletier, an extra $300,000 is now available from C.H.F.A. for down payment assistance in
I was troubled to learn that household income of Manchester residents has declined 20 percent in real terms in recent years, despite strong job growth around the Buckland Hills Mall. Residential taxpayers are being asked to pay even more. We need to turn this around, and the good news is that we can.
Manchester is well positioned to take advantage of the growing healthcare economy with our hospital. To capitalize on this trend, I will work to partner the Board of Directors with our town’s major employers to facilitate broader workforce training. If more of our citizens are trained to work in the healthcare field and other areas, we’ll see more business tax revenue and more prosperity for residents.
All of this can pave the way for more tax relief for citizens in Manchester. .
Sincerely,
Matt Peak
